Customized Orders

Phew! I am back! :) Still got a few customized orders to complete, thought I'll keep this place updated a bit first.

Two months ago, a customer requested for these customized bookmarks with zodiac beads. Here are the results, and I'm happy that she is satisfied with the results. Thanks, Seet Mui! :)

And here are some customized orders by a customer in Singapore. :)

And then, recently, some orders for metal bookmarks. Somehow, my camera doesn't capture purple objects very well. I always have a problem with that.

Note to self:
  1. Reply e-mails
  2. Jenn, Mun and Sue's customizations

Enough Time For One Post, Maybe

Since my cousin went to the bank, she has allowed me to use her laptop for now. Yay! So I thought I'd share some of the customizations I've made recently.

I had a request to remake BK016 bookmark - remember the mermaid one with blue and green glass beads? Well, this customer requested to change it to pearls instead, and the result looks pretty grungy + sophisticated. :)

At first, I used white and grey pearls. She also requested to have more sea-themed charms than pearls.

Therefore, BK018 Rosalyn was born! However, my customer preferred all white pearls, so I removed the grey ones. It no longer looked grungy, but it exudes pure sphistication. :)

This is BK019 Rosalyn White.

Hope your friend will be happy with this bookmark, Rosalyn! :)

Being Away

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I will not be able to reply any e-mails this week as I'm back in my dad's hometown in Ipoh to grieve for the passing of my beloved grandmother. I may not be able to come online as frequently. I apologize for any inconvenience caused.

To my friends who have learnt the news and texted me, I sincerely thank you for your kind words and support. :)

Swirly Star Necklace

I think the swirls in the star pendant look really nice. I conjured up this necklace with Christmas in mind, focusing on the star which appeared two thousand years ago to mark the birth of a Messiah. :) Let this lovely and dainty necklace adorn your collarbone!

Cheese!

That's was my first thought when I saw this chain. Looks quirky, doesn't it? Reminds me of those cartoonish cheese with holes in them.

My colleague requested for this customized set. She could hardly keep her excitement down and asked me every day at work about her bracelet and earrings which were in the making. :p So cute la you, June!

B92 June's Cheese
Rhodium-plated and nickel free chain links with lobster clasp.

As for the earrings, June wanted something really simple and tiny.

Snowdrops

Christmas is coming! Snowdrops are falling! Teehee. :) Here's a bracelet I've created, with white, purity and snowdrops in mind. A pair of tiny flying birds adorn the toggle clasp. I didn't like the idea of putting just one bird because it'd look lonely there, so I added a friend!

Otherwise, it makes a great gift too, for a friend who always has her nose buried in a good book. :)

Vintage Flowers

Here's a bracelet I've created last night - inspired by a design in this book called French-Inspired Jewelry by Kaari Meng which my friend bought for my birthday. Absolutely love the flowers, leaves and butterflies combination!

A few of the glass flowers are very slightly chipped though, but that does not affect the overall look of the bracelet. I'll have to say, this bracelet is not for fussy buyers? :p

Two From Galilee Trailer

Yups, we're currently rehearsing for this upcoming musical called Two From Galilee, which will be staged in October at Panggung Bandaraya, Kuala Lumpur. Watch the trailer below! :)

video

The Canticle Singers (TCS) proudly presents the dramatic musical TWO FROM GALILEE by Robert Sterling and Karla Worley. The family styled musical is based on a novel of the same title by Marjorie Holmes that was on the New York Times 1972 best seller list and one of the top 10 best selling novels that year. The musical played at the Peter J Sharpe Theatre at Symphony Space on Broadway in 2006 and has been staged in many countries.

TWO FROM GALILEE revolves around a young couple who are very much in love. Ensnared in family conflicts, a hostile world and by an awesome responsibility, they fight for their one true love and to fulfill their dreams. But trust is shaken and love questioned, revealing a family's shame and a husband's doubt until the couple realizes that it is not all about finding true love but about life's purpose and calling. The musical encompasses dramatic and comic elements and is backed by a lush musical score journeying through a variety of moods and emotions with rhythmic numbers, rousing choruses, contemplative themes and soaring refrains. The musical features a cast of 25 performers. Net proceeds of the production after deducting production costs and overheads will go towards St Barnabas Home for Children and The Tondo Community Project.

I'm also excited to announce that Chatterbeads will be setting up a stall to display handmade jewellery for sale! My appreciation goes to my music director for his thoughtfulness for this opportunity. I'll be creating more interesting pieces to be sold there. :)

Pitter-Patter

I have this song which I sing with my pupils. They really enjoy it because they can pretend that it's a rainy day and they can jump into puddles and splash around! :)

Drip-drop drip-drop, the rain is falling down
Drip-drop drip-drop, splashing all around
Let's put on our gumboots, our raincoats and our hats
And jump into the puddle with a splish-splish-splash!

Anyway, here's a pair of earrings which is related to the rain! :) It's a very simple piece, and the beads look like huge raindrops, no?

Crackled Effect

I really like the effect of these lovely beads. I actually found them at one of the Burmese bead pedlar's stall in KL, strung into a bracelet. I bought it, took the bracelet apart and used the beads to make earrings instead. Thinking of what else I can do with the remaining beads. :)

Watch this space; I'm taking photos of new creations and they will be up here shortly!

Singapore Day 1 & 2

There were LOTS of lovely pendants on long chains in Orchard, Singapore. LOTS of butterflies, birds, swirls. I've finally succumbed to the trend. :p Found the best birdcage pendant in Far East Plaza!

I like how it is designed - it's only half the cage. The other half is open. Sorta symbolises that the bird is free to stay or to fly out. :)

I am pretty happy with yesterday - managed to cover most of the places I wanted to visit. Many thanks to my tour guide Jon! :D

He was pretty much tired because I disrupted his sleeping pattern. :p Thank you for spending a day with me! :)

Fried Mars Bar. Absolutely delicious. :) I'm tempted to go town for more!

The view of the port from Vivo City.

And finally, back home to celebrate my cousin's birthday. :) That's my cousin in red, niece who insisted on blowing the candle together with my cousin, my cousin-in-law and my aunt (mum's sis).

My purchases on Day 1! Birdy umbrella and Golla camera pouch. :)

Joan of Joan Bead Shop was so sweet to recommend me places to get beads. :) I haven't gone to Chinatown yet, Joan.. but will soon! Today my other cousin will bring me somewhere else to look at beads. Waiting til later in the evening!

Away

Hello everyone! A quick post to announce that I will be away from 7-14 June 2009 as I will be in Singapore. Apologies for orders made during the last week - I can only ship your items on Monday, 15 June so you can make your payment during this week. I think it's best you don't text me, e-mail will do (I'm not sure about roaming charges, whether they charge both sides etc). :) I am able to be online quite frequently.

Here's a picture from the choir performance Be Our Guest, taken by Anselm and edited by Chris Sam.

A big shout-out to family and friends who came to watch.. thank you! :) and Agnes, thank you for texting me saying that you'd be watching too! Wish I got to meet you to say hi. :)

Wish I brought my beads and tools here too. Heheh. :p

Featured!

I think I must make a conscious effort to say thank you whenever I'm being featured. =s So, thank you, Little Accompaniments, for featuring my mermaid bookmark! :) It's here.

True, enough, it has been snatched up today by a lady. ;) Just so you know, limited remakes are possible.. limited enough to maintain the exclusiveness of my creation. Heheh.

In the same note, thanks to Detailed Wears too for featuring my Bountiful Violets bracelet. :)
